SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
WBC NEW SCOREBOARD

2 November 2009

Tony & Mary HENSON at left during the announcement by Club President Ross Neilson - SCOREBOARD above

The Waverley Baseball Club has always attracted high quality people over its near 50-year history and, we are delighted to report, this tradition continues. One of the nicest families to join the 'Waverley Nation' in more recent times is the HENSON Family who came to the club in support of their son Miles Henson, who has been a very good and versatile junior player before graduating to senior ranks in the last couple of years.

Parents Mary and Tony Henson have long been terrific contributors behind the scenes in our Junior club and they have always been quick to provide whatever assistance, financial and otherwise, that they could. They have just taken this to another level by pledging to "Sponsor" the total cost of our magnificent new ELECTRONIC SCOREBOARD, as pictured. While the Henson's do not want us to mention the amount, President Ross Neilson announced it as the largest single sponsorship ever received in the history of the club to date. It is certainly something that the club needed and it would be impossible to thank the Henson family, and their company 600 CRANES, enough for this selfless gesture.

Now, I know very well that Mary and Tony Henson (as pictured) are definitely not the type of people to want anything in return and nor would they like the attention that might be afforded to people who make this kind of contribution. The Hensons go about their business very quietly but if you do happen to see them in the WBC Clubrooms, you might like to buy Tony a nice cold Crown Lager, or Mary a drop of wine... or most of all, just say hello as a token of our appreciation. And, if you do happen to hear of anyone who could put some business their way, PLEASE mention 600 CRANES.

Anyone wishing to know more about how they can support them is asked to contact Ross Neilson on 0409 663347.
